RYA Powerboat level 2 - National Powerboat Certificate

To teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats.

The start time is 09:30 with an anticipated finish at around 17:00

Course Information

Level 2 is a practical course with a small amount of classroom work.

However, with the aim of the course in mind, we endeavour to complete 80% afloat.

At the end of the course you will be issued with the RYA 'Start Powerboating' publication. The contents cover everything you will have learnt over the 2 day course.

The course will be conducted in our 7.5m Cobra RIB with a Yamaha 200 4 stroke.

What to bring with you on the course

Lifejackets and waterproofs are provided.

  • Warm clothing.
  • Suitable footwear for being on board a high speed craft such as deck shoes, sailing boots (not gardening wellies please) or old trainers.
  • If you wish to use your own foul weather gear, please bring it. You may also bring your own lifejacket but it must conform to EN 396, be in good condition and have a minimum buoyancy of 150 newtons.
  • A change of clothing. In case of emergency.
