Commercial Endorsements
Operators of vessels in a commercial role are required to hold a commercial endorsement
There are different categories requiring different base qualifications. We have set out the various options below. These are based upon a maximum of 12 passengers and no cargo and operate only in favourable weather and daylight from a nominated departure point.
All certificates must carry the endorsement “valid for vessels of up to 24 metres in length used for commercial purposes”.
Areas of Operation
For vessels that put to sea, within three miles from a nominated departure point and never more than three miles from land, in favourable weather and daylight.
RYA Advanced Powerboat certificate of competence
RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate
For vessels that put to sea, within 20 miles from a nominated departure point in favourable weather.

Additional steps to gain the commercial endorsement
In order to obtain the commercial endorsement you must hold one of the above and then complete the following steps.
A Medical Fitness Certificate. Either a MCA Medical Report ML5 or MCA Medical Fitness certificate ENG1.
Personal Survival Techniques Certificate. This can be gained by attending a one-day practical course.
An approved First Aid certificate such as RYA First Aid at Sea.
A VHF Radio operators certificate.

If you request a specific booking we will make the reservation and our booking system will send you an email, with a link to follow, to complete the process easily online. You’ll be asked to create or update your profile, confirm acceptance of terms and conditions and then make a payment online.
When you complete the payment you’ll receive an email with confirmation and joining instructions for the course.
