This course is to train experienced PWC handlers to become a Jetski Instructor
Guardian Marine will travel to wherever your yacht is and complete the course on board
Aim: To train experienced PWC handlers to become PWC Instructors.
Duration: Three days with the final day being moderated by a second Jetski trainer.
Instructor to student ratio: Max 1:6 - Min 1:3
In 2007 the RYA and PYA (Professional Yachtsman's Association) identified a need for guest's onboard superyachts to have some form of safety training before riding a PWC (Jetski). As a result of these discussions a Jetski training package was put together whereby a yacht becomes an RYA recognised training centre to teach jetski safety.
The Yacht has to have an RYA PWC (jetski) instructor on board to run this course. Charter guests, owners or crew will then be issued with a short term PWC (jetski) licence.
Instructors course syllabus will include teaching of safety equipment including PWC machine, operation of PWC, simple chart work, basic collision regs and courtesy to other water users. The purpose of this course is safety. On the water we will instruct on basic slow speed manoeuvres, launching and boarding.
Upon completion we will complete all certification for the instructors and arrange fast track processing by the RYA if required.
We have been running this course since it’s inception in 2007
